Reflection

I've finally handed up my portfolio this morning! Throughout this module, I had learnt alot from the technical use of the illustrator software to group dynamics. Although the workload is heavy, I enjoyed this module as it is something different from the rest of the modules which are more theory based. The assignment I like best would be the storybook project. It is the first time I created a storybook from scratch with my groupmates. It is a great learning experience indeed!

Final Project - Casey & the Magical Candy Kingdom

The final storybook:

By: Angelina, Joy, Jasmine and Jisoo (:

These few weeks, our group worked hard to finish the storybook. It was such a relief after handing up the final project. Although there was a mini crisis in the middle of the project, we manage to tide through and continue by reassigning part of the project among the rest of the group members to speed up as it was nearing the dateline. Patience and understanding is key towards working together as a group. It has helped us grow not only as a team, but also as individuals. Communication is extremely important as well. Our initial discussions were held face to face to establish a strong foundation for our project with regards to the tasks allocation etc. Subsequently, it is through emails and phone.

We did our best! Thank you group mates for putting in so much effort!!

Final Project Digitalisation Process

After the initial tracing of characters, it is decided that I will be doing the elves characters and Joy will be doing the main character, Casey and Casey's mother as Joy is better in drawing more realistic drawings and I'm better at fairy-like characters.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Joy and I are helping out with the background illustrations and digitalisation.

Initially, we had some problems with the illustration style. After some discussion, we decided to use only gradient colours to standardise throughout.
